Leaders are required to make decisions that are not popular and many times the middle of the road compromises can be a disaster.

 

John Adams second POTUS fumed in a letter to an ally. “If we finally fail in this great and glorious contest, it will be by bewildering ourselves in groping for the middle way.” 

 

 One of the hallmarks of a great leader is the ability to convince others to do something difficult under maximum duress. Create a culture that fosters communication so everyone knows the vision and provide interactions so the team has the security to be comfortable with the road taken.
